Supramolecular catalysis of adenosine triphosphate synthesis in aqueous solution mediated by a macrocyclic polyamine and divalent metal cations

Abstract

In the presence of the divalent metal cation Mg2+ as promoter, macrocycle 1 catalyses the generation of ATP from acetyl phosphate and ADP in dilute aqueous solution at neutral pH.
