Co-operative hydrogen bonding with short O ⋯ O distances in a binuclear AlIII–glycolate complex

Abstract

X-Ray structure analysis of tri(sodium hydrogen)bis[trisglycolato-aluminate(III)], Na3H3[Al(C2H2O3)3]2, has revealed facial 1 : 3 AlIII–glycolate complexes that are connected into binuclear complexes by three short [O ⋯ O 2.425(4)Å] and symmetrical hydrogen bonds between the hydroxy moieties.
