Oxidative deamination and oxygenation of a cuII Schiff base complex

Abstract

The copper(II) complexes of Schiff bases formed from sulphophenylglycine with vitamin B6 coenzymes, pyridoxal-5′-phosphate and 5′-deoxypyridoxal, react with dioxygen to produce the corresponding keto acid and new dioxygen insertion products, the oximes of the coenzymes.
