Bimetallic Pt–Au colloids as catalysts for photochemical dehydrogenation

Abstract

Bimetallic colloidal particles, consisting of variable mole fractions of Pt and Au, catalyse H2 formation from sacrificial photosystems and as the fraction of Au increases there is a substantial decrease in the rate of hydrogenation of the reactants such that higher yields of H2 are attainable.
