Dithiolatocobalt(III) complexes [Co(cp)(S2C2XY)](1a; X = Y = CO2Me) and (1b; X = H, Y = CO2Me)(cp = C5H5) react with diazo compounds to give alkylidene adducts containing a C–Co–S three-membered ring.
