Determination of rate parameters in seeded emulsion polymerisation systems. A sensitivity analysis

Abstract

It has previously been shown that rate coefficients for emulsion polymerisation can be determined by fitting data on seeded batch reactions. Sensitivity analysis now shows that in some limiting cases this technique is not sensitive to certain rate coefficients. Consequently, some previously published values for butyl acrylate and butyl methacrylate have been amended. Improved data-analysis methods are derived.
