Iron-57 and gold-197 Mössbauer spectroscopic data are reported for the compounds [Fe(CO)4{Au[P(C6H11)3]}2] and [Fe(CO)4{Au[P(C6H11)3]}3]PF6. The data are consistent with localised bonding for the former and four-centre two-electron cluster bonding for the latter.
