The infrared and laser Raman spectra of solid 4,5-diamino-6-hydroxy-2-mercapto- and 4,6-diamino-2-mercapto-pyrimidines and their electronic spectra in polar solvents are reported. An assignment of fundamentals is proposed. The effects of pH and solvents, hydrogen bonding and tautomeric forms are also discussed.
