Cationic allyldinitrosyl complexes of iron

Abstract

The nitrosonium salt [NO][PF6] reacts with [Fe(CO)L(NO)(η3-allyl)][L = P(OPh)3, P(OMe)3, or PPh3; allyl = C3H5, C3H4Me–1, or C3H4Me–2] to give [FeL(NO)23-allyl)][PF6]. Spin saturation transfer 1H n.m.r. spectroscopy shows that the fluxionality of the products involves slow allyl rotation at room temperature.
