Heteropolyanions in non-polar solvents. Metalloporphyrin-like oxidation of chromium(III) to chromium(V) by iodosylbenzene

Abstract

Solutions of [SiMo11O39Cr(OH2)]5– and [SiW11O39Cr(OH)]6– in toluene, benzene, or acetonitrile react with iodosylbenzene to yield the corresponding oxochromium(V) species.
