Unusual minicyclic macrocyclic sandwich complex of titanium(III) containing cyclopentadienyl and tetramethyldibenzocyclotetradecane (C22H22N42–) ligands

Abstract

Ti(C22H22N4)(C5H5), obtained from the reaction of Ti(C22H22N4)Cl2 with NaC5H5, consists of a minicyclic (C5H5) and a tetra-aza macrocyclic (C22H22N42–) component bound to TiIII in a new type of sandwich complex the structure of which has been determined by X-ray crystallography.
