Abstract

Treatment of [(cycloheptadienyl(Mn(CO)2L](L = CO, PR3) complexes with NOPF6 generates [(cycloheptadienyl)Mn(CO)(NO)L]+ cations that are attacked by P-, N-, H-, and C-donor nucleophiles to give functionalized cycloheptadiene complexes (5).
