Correlation of thallium–boron nuclear spin states by two-dimensional n.m.r. spectroscopy: magnitudes and relative signs of couplings nJ(205Tl–11B) in the nido-thallaundecaborane anion [Me2TlB10H12].

Abstract

2D COSY 11B–11B n.m.r. spectroscopy on nido-[Me2TIB10H12] correlates individual 11B doublet components that are associated with particular 205TI spin-states; this permits the determination of the magnitudes and relative signs of various intracluster coupling constants nJ(205TI-11B) and hence yields bonding information.
