Kinetics of reactions involving three organic substrates in microheterogeneous systems

Abstract

The rate constants have been obtained for reactions of Crystal Violet, Malachite Green and 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene with hydroxide ions in two aqueous microemulsions. The rates of reaction are significantly faster than in the corresponding aqueous solutions. For the reaction involving the chlorobenzene, kinetic evidence is reported for a two-state reaction. The catalysis is assigned to interphase effects in the microheterogeneous system.
