Non-stoicheiometric Zn–Cr spinel as active phase in the catalytic synthesis of methanol

Abstract

Zn2+ ions octahedrally co-ordinated in a non-stoicheiometric Zn–Cr spinel-like phase are the active sites in the catalytic synthesis of methanol from syngas at high temperature.
