The photolysis of co-ordinated water in [Mn(saltm)(H2O)]2(ClO4)2[saltm =N,N′-propylenebis(salicylideneaminato)]

Abstract

Irradiation with visible light of aqueous solutions of [Mn(saltm)(H2O)]2(ClO4)2[saltm =N,N′- propylenebis(salicylideneaminato)] and quinone results in the evolution of dioxygen and the production of hydroquinone; the manganese product remains in the 3+ oxidation state.
