Abstract
Symmetrical and unsymmetrical macrocyclic polyethers containing the 1,3-xylyl sub-unit and intra-annular functional groups have been synthesied from 2,6-bis(bromomethyl)anisole and dibutylstannylene derivatives of ethylene glycol, a chiral glycol derived from (+)-tatraric acid, and trans-cyclohexane-1,2-diol.
