Synthesis of perfluoropolyethers by direct fluorination; a novel preparation for perfluoro(polypropylene oxide) ethers and perfluoro(polymethylene oxide) ethers

Abstract

A new synthetic method has been developed for preparation of perfluoro(polypropylene oxide) ethers and perfluoro(polymethylene oxide) ethers by direct fluorination of polypropylene oxide and polymethylene oxide. A number of new ethers are reported and characterized by 19F n.m.r., mass spectrometry, and i.r. spectroscopy.
