13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of the Senecio alkaloids, retrorsine, swazine, isoline, and hygrophylline

Abstract

Examination of the 13C n.m.r. spectra of retrorsine and its hydrolysis products has permitted a complete 13C n.m.r. analysis of this alkaloid and the related pyrrolizidine alkaloids swazine, isoline, and hygrophylline.
