Trapping of an inner-sphere charge-transfer triplet state in a single crystal of a uranyl complex

Abstract

Irradiation of a single crystal of UO2(NO3)2·2OP(OEt)3 at 4·2 K produces a metastable triplet state whose e.s.r. characteristics indicate a localized electron transfer from an NO3 ion to the excited UO22+ ion.
