Contributions of orbital angular momentum to ligand hyperfine interactions in paramagnetic metal complexes
Abstract
Ligand nuclei in paramagnetic metal complexes which have anisotropic Zeeman interactions have a contribution to their hyperfine interactions from the orbital magnetic moment. The theory of this contribution and its importance in various types of complex are reviewed and a procedure for estimating it is suggested. This method is used to re-assess some recent proton ENDOR results on Cu(H2O)2+6.
