Formation of dicyanocobaltacyclopentanes from a cobalt(acrylonitrile) complex and isomerization of the cis-isomers via a polytopal rearrangement
Abstract
Oxidative cyclization of acrylonitrile complexed to cobalt, and a subsequent phosphine-exchange reaction, gives the trans-(4) and two cis-isomers (5) and (6) of η5-cyclopentadienyl(dimethylphenylphosphine)dicyanocobaltacyclopentane; the isomerization mechanism has been examined kinetically.
