Dichloroketen; gas phase preparation and characterisation by photoelectron spectroscopy

Abstract

Dechlorination of trichloroacetyl chloride, CCl3COCl, at low pressure, leads to the formation of dichloroketen, Cl2C[double bond, length as m-dash]C[double bond, length as m-dash]O, which is studied by HeI photoelectron spectroscopy.
