Pyramidal nitrogen atoms in a diquinolyl chelate ring: X-ray crystal structure of η3-allyl(8,8′-dimethyl-2,2′-diquinolyl)palladium(II) perchlorate dichloromethane solvate

Abstract

The methyl groups in the complex [Pd(η3-allyl)(8,8′-dimethyl-2,2′-diquinolyl)]ClO4·CH2Cl2 would severely clash with the allyl ligand were it not for the Pd atom lying 1·10 Å out of the plane of the bidentate diquinolyl ligand; as a consequence the nitrogen atoms are pyramidal.
