[Os5(CO)15POMe] has been isolated as a product of the pyrolysis of [Os3(CO)11P(OMe)3]; a single-crystal X-ray analysis has shown that the metal atoms adopt a square-pyramidal geometry with the phosphite ligand capping the square face.
