Amidinoacetamides in the synthesis of pyrazines and pteridines

Abstract

2-(Substituted amidino)-2-aminoacetamides were cyclised with 1,2-dicarbonyl reagents to 3-(substituted amino)pyrazine-2-carboxamides which were converted, where possible, into the corresponding 1-substituted pteridin-4(1H)-ones and 1-substituted pteridine-2,4(1H)-diones.
