The compounds µ-(η1:η5-cyclopentadienyl)-tris-(η-cyclopentadienyl)dititanium(Ti–Ti)(1) and µ-(η5:η5-fulvalene)di-µ-hydrido-bis(η-cyclopentadienyltitanium)(2) have been found to be homogeneous catalysts for the conversion of ethylene into ethane and buta-1,3-diene.
