Isomerization of (C2H4S)+˙ ions; thioacetaldehyde as the only species fragmenting by hydrogen atom loss

Abstract

The molecular ions of MeCHS and CH2[double bond, length half m-dash]CHSH interconvert, possibly via a ring opened ethylene sulphidetype intermediate; it is however only the MeCHS radical cation which fragments by hydrogen atom loss in the microsecond time-scale.
