Stability constants of complexes of copper(II) and zinc(II) ions with histidylhistidine

Abstract

Equilibrium constants at 37 °C and I= 0.15 mol dm–3(K[NO3]) are reported for copper(II) and Zinc(II) complexs of histidylhistidine (HL) from pH-titration data, using a range of metal-ion and ligand concentrations. Binuclear complexes are the major species in all the solutions. In the presence of histidine (HA), zinc(II) forms a mixed-ligand species,[ZnA(L)].
