Crystal structure of the cyclopentadienyl sodium tetrametylethylenediamine adduct Na(C5H5)(Me2NCH2CH2NMe2)

Abstract

The adduct Na(C5H5)(Me2NCH2CH2NMe 2), prepared from Na(C5H5) and an equimolar proportion (or excess) of Me2NCH2CH2NMe2 in THF, adopts a puckered chain structure in the crystal in which Na(Me2NCH2CH2NMe2) units are linked by bridging h5-C5H5 rings.
