Detection and determination of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons by luminescence spectrometry utilising the Shpol'skii effect at 77 K. Part III. Luminescence excitation spectra

Abstract

An apparatus has been constructed to permit the examination of the luminescence excitation spectra of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons that exhibit the Shpol'skii effect in their low-temperature luminescence emission in n-alkane solvents at 77 K. Excitation spectra and detection limits for a range of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbon components are presented.
