Kinetics of the thermolysis of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane in the gas phase

Abstract

The kinetics of the thermolysis of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane have been studied in the gas phase between 767 and 925 K. A mechanism has been deduced involving the intermediate Me2SiO, and conclusions are drawn about the stability and chemical behaviour of Me2SiO.
