Thermal decomposition of cyclopent-3-enone
Abstract
The thermal decomposition of cyclopent-3-enone has been studied in the gas phase in the temperature range 325–380°. The reaction is homogeneous, first order, and probably unimolecular and yields butadiene and carbon monoxide quantitatively. The rate constants fit the Arrhenius equation (i).
