Basicity studies of a series of 4,4-dimethylcyclohexa-2,5-dienones

Abstract

Measurements have been made of the equilibrium protonation behaviour of a series of alkylcyclohexa-2,5-dienones. All follow the amide acidity function HA quite closely, and their pK values can be correlated with those of related cyclohex-2-enones.
