Terpenoids. Part XXVII. Structure and stereochemistry of ponicidin, a diterpenoid of Isodon japonicus

Abstract

On the basis of chemical and spectroscopic (especially n.m.r.) evidence, ponicidin was assigned the structure ent-7β,20:14β,20-diepoxy-1β,6α,7α-trihydroxykaur-16-en-15-one (1). The results of an o.r.d. determination established its absolute configuration.
