Crystal and molecular structure of trans-dichlorobis(hexaborane-10)platinum(II)

Abstract

(B6H10)2PtCl2 is a trans-square-planar complex with the platinum bridge-bonded to the unique (4,5-position) basal boron atoms in each of the B6H10 ligands; the bridged B–B bond is nearly perpendicular to the Cl–Pt–Cl axis.
