The synthesis of some 1-substituted cytosine and uracil derivatives

Abstract

The synthesis of cytosines and uracils carrying the following substituents on N-1 is described: 2-mercaptoethyl (as the disulphide), 2-amino-oxyethyl, 3-carboxypropyl, 3-hydroxypropyl, 3-mercaptopropyl (as the disulphide), 3-amino-oxypropyl, and 3-aminopropyl (cytosine only).
