Synthesis of transition-metal carbonyl derivatives of magnesium

Abstract

Novel transition-metal carbonyl derivatives of magnesium can be readily prepared by the reductive cleavage of numerous dimeric transition metal carbonyl complexes with magnesium amalgam in the presence of a Lewis base.
