1,5,9,13-Tetraoxacyclohexadecane and its 3,3,7,7,1,1,15,15,-octamethyl derivative form stable complexes with two moles of lithium salts, some of which co-crystallize with uncomplexed tetraethers to give a 1 : 1 stoicheiometry.
