Formation of Δ2-oxazolines by cyclization of N-acyl-β-hydroxy-amines on zinc acetate. An oxazoline complex of zinc acetate

Abstract

Heating on solid zinc acetate converts N-acylated β-hydroxy-amines into Δ2-oxazolines via a retention mechanism; a complex 1:1 of oxazoline and zinc acetate was isolated.
