Organotin chemistry. Part IX. Functionally substituted metallostanoxanes

Abstract

Reactions similar to those already known between organotin halides or carboxylates and dialkyltin oxides have been established for derivatives of a number of other metals. New classes of functionally substituted metallostannoxanes RnM·O·SnR2′X (M = Hg, Tl, Si, Ge, and Pb) are described. The dichlorosilastannoxanes, ClR2Si·O·SnR2′Cl, appear to be intermediates in the reaction R2SiCl2+ R2′SnO ClR2Si·O·SnR2′Cl (R2SiO)n+ R2′SnCl2
