Aromatic nucleophilic exchange reactions. Part I. Heterogeneous catalysis

Abstract

Some data are presented which confirm a SN2 exchange of halogen between potassium iodide and 1-iodo-2,4-dinitrobenzene in methanol at [Kl] > 0·1 M. However, at low concentrations of potassium iodide the exchange appears to proceed via a heterogeneous mechanism.
