The crystal structures of the acid salts of some dibasic acids. Part V. Caesium hydrogen succinate monohydrate
Abstract
The acid caesium salt of succinic acid crystallises with two CsH(C4H4O4),H2O units in a cell with a= 5·82, b= 13·67, c= 4·78 Å, β= 98·2°, and space group P21/m. X-Ray structure analysis, based on some 600 intensity data and refined to R 14·5%, shows the salt to be of Type A2. The infinite chains of hydrogen succinate anions are linked, across crystallographic centres of symmetry, by hydrogen bonds, with O ⋯ H ⋯ O 2·41(4)Å.
