Aniline and o-allylaniline complexes of titanium tetrachloride and titanium tetrabromide

Abstract

Titanium tetrachloride forms a 1 : 1 addition compound with o-allylaniline which involves five-co-ordinate titanium(IV); the o-allyl group is not co-ordinated to the metal atom. Aniline forms 1 : 1 (five-co-ordinate) and 1 : 2 (six-co-ordinate) addition compounds with titanium tetrachloride and 1 : 2 addition compounds (six-co-ordinate) with titanium tetrabromide.
