X-Ray determination of the structure of Fe(CO)4(AsC6F5)2, a complex containing “decafluoro-arsenobenzene”

Abstract

Tetrakispentafluorophenylcyclotetra-arsine reacts with Fe(CO)5 giving Fe(CO)4(AsC6F5)2, in which the molecule (AsC6F5)2 contains an As–As linkage and is bonded by each As atom to Fe; (PC6F5)4, however, yields Fe3(CO)9(PC6F5)2 and traces of [Fe(CO)3]2(PC6F5)4 under similar conditions.
