Photo-electron spectra of silyl and germyl halides and (pd)π-bonding

Abstract

The Photo-electron spectra of silyl and germyl chlorides provide evidence that (pd)π-bonding does occur between Cl and Si or Ge; the spectra of the bromides and iodides are less conclusive.
