Ultra-violet absorption spectrum of germanium monochloride

Abstract

The absorption spectrum of GeCl observed during the flash photolysis of GeCl4 consists of the B2∑-X2Π transition in the 300 nm region and also a number of bands at shorter wavelengths. These can be analyzed into two systems, both of which involve the ground state. The parameters of the upper states are as follows. [graphic ommitted] Other observed bands are probably members of another transition D-X, of GeCl.
