Some five-co-ordinate cationic complexes of the type [Ir(CO)xL5–x]+, where x= 1–3 and L is dimethylphenyl-phosphine or -arsine

Abstract

A series of five-co-ordinate cationic complexes of the type [Ir(CO)xL5–x]+(x= 1–3; L = PMe2Ph or AsMe2Ph) has been prepared from trans-[IrCl(CO)L2], carbon monoxide and/or L. The various species could be readily interconverted. I.r. and n.m.r. data are reported and discussed.
