Dissociation of dinitrogen tetroxide in the gas phase

Abstract

The equilibrium between nitrogen dioxide and dinitrogen tetroxide in the gas phase was studied between 243 and 273°K. The results are compared with those obtained previously at higher temperatures and the entropy of dissociation of dinitrogen tetroxide is compared with its calculated value. The variation of the equilibrium constant with pressure is discussed.
