The synthesis of cinnamyl pyrophosphate and its reaction with resorcinol

Abstract

Cinnamyl pyrophosphate has been prepared for the first time, and reacts with resorcinol to give a cinnamyl-phenol and a neoflavanoid consistent with Ollis' postulate for the biosynthesis of these compounds.
